Kim Smadis is the owner and founder of PureLife Balance. She is an amazing business woman, a mom to 4 boys and a loving wife to Darren. For those of you who don't know, 6 years ago Kim was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Her particular cancer was caused by toxins in her environment. She was told at that time to get her affairs in order - there was a good chance she was not going to make it until Christmas. Kim faced her cancer with courage, went through various treatments and finished with breast reconstruction after undergoing a double mastectomy. Little did she know that this ground breaking reconstruction surgery would come back to bite her.
Since that time 6 years ago, Kim has become an advocate and leader for women, for anyone going through cancer, for those who are marginalized. Her passion to help people live the healthiest, best life possible. She has even recently started up a foundation called "Fighters Foundation" to raise money for others fighting with cancer.
A week ago, Kim was blindsided when her doctor told her the news that the implants that they used for her reconstruction have been found to cause a new form of cancer in people who previously had cancer. The second blow was when she was told that she has to wait at least 12 months to have her implants removed because the waiting list is so long because of this recall. Someone who has gone through the type of cancer Kim has cannot wait 12 months to remove the toxic implants from her body. A surgeon has suggested to Kim that there is an option to pay for the surgery herself, this would allow her to have the surgery immediately.
Kim has created an amazing community of caring people who want to live healthy, non-toxic lifestyles. This community now wants to rally around Kim and her family and help her get the surgery she needs. Let’s get her back out there changing live, helping others, and doing what she does best!
Any money raised over and beyond that utilized for her surgery will be donated directly to the Fighter’s Foundation.
