About Kennah
Kennah is a six year old bearded collie owned and loved by Jaimie and Justin St-Maurice in Guelph, ON. Anyone that has ever met Kennah knows that her personality is infectious. A bouncy, bright fluff ball of silly, she is a beloved pet, obedience dog, and barker extraordinaire. She is one of four bearded collies in the St-Maurice household, one of which is a brand new puppy.
Fighting for her Life
Kennah presented with what they thought was a UTI on November 30th, 2017. Two days into the antibiotic treatment, she started vomiting and stopped eating. On December 1st, Jaime and Justin returned to the Veterinarian to see if they could try an alternate antibiotic and investigate further. After changing antibiotics, Kennah spent the weekend relatively bright but they returned to the Veterinarian on Tuesday, December 5th for more lab work.
On December 6th, lab work indicated acute kidney failure and she was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the Ontario Veterinary College. Kennah has now spent seven days in the ICU at the Ontario Veterinary College where she has received supportive care 24.7. Her working diagnosis is leptovirus, a bacterial infection that can cause liver failure and threaten a dog's life.

Jaimie and Justin have already spent over $3500 and projected total costs of $9-10,000 to stabilize Kennah and aid in her recovery, which is a burden at any time, let alone with Christmas around the corner and a new puppy.
