Support Ken's Battle against ALS

Ken Kiffmeyer has been a dear friend and colleague of ours throughout his thirty-year career with CBRE.
Over the past several months Ken had noticed increased difficulty getting through his daily routine along with decreased strength and a loss of balance. While we’ve all been praying for good news, the unfortunate result is that Ken has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a progressive degeneration of upper and lower motor neurons leading to limb paralysis, dysphagia, dysarthria, and respiratory failure. The cause of the disease is unknown and there is no effective cure. It's estimated that the care for an ALS patient is over $200,000 a year, many of which are not covered by medical insurance.
Kenny is a dedicated family man to his beautiful wife Sherry and three children, AJ, Sarah and Amber. Kenny is also a hands-on Grandpa to his many grandchildren! Ken and his family are truly facing a monumental challenge in the coming months.
Along with his diagnosis a week ago, his doctor has determined that Ken can no longer work. Monies that he had saved for retirement will now be used for medical expenses after he exhausts all of his short term disability. ALS is not a curable disease and Kenny is in Stage 2 of 3 at this time. We miss him in our workplace as Ken has been a very valuable member of our team. Our goal is to help raise money for his medical expenses so he and his family do not have to focus on the costs of care but spend every moment with their dear husband and father and make every moment count.
Ken has an aggressive form of ALS and we would like to help him any way we can. Ken is currently using a walker to get from one point to another and is having other difficulties with daily life. I know that Kenny has many, many friends, family and co-workers out there. I am asking you to help our very dear friend with funds to ease his mind and help with his fight of this terrible disease.
Kenny is a giver. He has always had his priorities in life right, God, family and community. I will throw work in there too as he was and still is a very dedicated man to our company and team. He keeps his phone by his side for us as we seek his advice on how to handle issues that come up that only he would know how to handle. Ken has given up countless hours to everyone, family, church, work, coaching football, and always lending a hand to whoever needed it. It is time to lift up Our Warrior and Hero, Ken Kiffmeyer.
