Hi, my name is Abby, and I am making this for someone I love and care deeply about, my oldest and truest friend Kay.

Kay has had a life harder than most from early on and it is continuing. She and her husband are currently in real, immediate danger from someone who has been stalking, manipulating, and targeting them.

Kay has reached out for help. She has gone to police, to medical providers, to her own family, and has been ignored, blamed, or turned away. Kay deserves to live. She deserves to heal. And she deserves to be believed.

She’s chronically ill and dealing with the aftermath of violence and abandonment. Kay also does her best to support her husband through an immigration process. The immigration process can be long and tedious when going through official channels. Even with attorney guidance this process can be stressful, but especially so when you feel unsafe.

I’m white. I’ve seen how different the system treats people like me. I’m using my position and access to create this fundraiser, but make no mistake — this is Kay’s voice, Kay’s life, and Kay’s need.

She and her husband are trying to survive. They need:

Kay and her husband were working hard to build a life together and are still doing so. This fundraiser is to support the emergency needs to help turn their focus to building a life together rather than survival in a dangerous situation.

This isn’t about charity — it’s about making survival possible.
