<div>Note from Budd: I'll be honest with ya, the rest of this section was written by AI (LIKE I HAD A CHOICE) but the gist is this: Kayla is the best and they were dealt a terrible hand and I'M PISSED. Kayla is a true rocker and lover of all things DIY and deserves to chill and not stress about what lies ahead. Please help them out. -Budd, Kevin, Claire, PDA, The Elysian, God, John Oliver, George Carlin

<div>On the evening of Friday, March 6th, my dear friend Kayla was walking to the train when their life changed in an instant. A driver, believed to be fleeing another accident, deliberately sped up and changed lanes to hit Kayla. The police have not yet caught the person responsible, and Kayla doesn’t remember the accident—just the moment before. They arrived at the hospital covered in blood, with both ankles broken and severe injuries to their legs. Right now, Kayla can’t stand or walk, and they’re waiting to find out if surgery will be needed.

<div> Kayla is one of the hardest-working people I know, juggling three jobs that all require them to be on their feet. They rely on public transportation and will likely need a walker for at least six weeks. The road to recovery will be long and uncertain, and the financial impact is already overwhelming. The funds raised here will help Kayla with whatever urgent needs arise—whether it’s covering lost income, paying medical bills, or simply making sure they have what they need to heal and get back on their feet.

<div> Kayla is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off their back. They’re a true punk, a lover of all things DIY, and someone who always shows up for others. I’m angry about what happened to them, and all I want is for Kayla to be able to relax and heal without the added stress of worrying about money. Any support you can give means the world to both of us. Thank you for helping Kayla during this incredibly difficult time.
