<div>Overview: Our Mama was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in November 2024. After three rounds of chemo therapy, they found a second type of cancer, B-cell lymphoma. She’s started the second round of treatment, and this is why we are raising funds for her. This new treatment requires her and our father to relocate 3 hours away for almost a month. Our dad has to be with her to monitor and take care of her, she requires around the clock attention during this phase. They will be leaving our two youngest siblings at home with us since they will still be in school. We will need funds for food, transportation, and child care.

<div>Our Mama’s name is Kathy, she is 54 years old. She was diagnosed with Lupus and Sjogren’s in her 30s, and more recently developed full body myopathy. Then, last year after losing our grandfather, her father, to cancer, she was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma. She received chemo treatment that was successful in eliminating the cancerous T-cells, her tumors shrunk and she started feeling much better. Once the T-cells were better, she was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. She has already begun treatment and is staying brave with a positive mindset!

<div>Mom’s mobility has been the most affected by her conditions. It is difficult and painful for her to move around and she is bedridden most days. She needs someone to be with her for assistance at all times, and our dad (54) has been there for her every step of the way. He won’t be able to work a regular job until her treatment is complete and her condition balances out, as he is also taking care of our youngest siblings (12 and 14).

<div>We are all doing everything we can as a family in terms of finding resources to help out during this difficult time. While insurance is covering most costs, we still have to fill in the gaps for food, transportation and child care. For our mom’s treatment, she and our dad will have to leave Ithaca to stay near the hospital in Buffalo for about a month. We are grateful to the Kevin House for giving them a place to stay, and our parents will be reimbursed for some of their expenses.

<div>While they are away, two of us siblings (21 and 27) will stay with the youngest two to make sure they continue their daily routines and school. Transportation will be the greatest need, as well as meals for our parents and for the kids at home.

<div>We are hoping to raise as much as possible before our mom is called to Buffalo for her treatment. The money will be used to fund transportation, meals, medicine, and any medical expenses not covered by insurance.
