<div>On September 9th, Kailey was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital with signs of severe pre-eclampsia
</div>
<div>(a dangerous complication during pregnancy where the placenta reacts negatively, creating high blood pressure and life-threatening issues with her organs).
</div>
<div>After 2 weeks at Rainbow, receiving treatment, her levels became critical. The only medical solution was delivery of the twin baby boys. The problem is that they were only 24 weeks in gestation.

<div>During an emergency C-section on September 21, the baby boys, <strong>Lorenzo and Niko</strong>, were delivered into this world as micro preemies. Weighing just over 1 pound each, they went straight to the NICU. They have a long road ahead of them. They will face a medical gambit in the next few months, fighting to survive. <strong>Kailey now must endure a long road to recovery, with constant monitoring, in hopes that blood pressure, kidney and liver function, and post-surgery wounds go back to a normal level.</strong>
