Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read Kaella’s story.
We are the Evans family and we are looking to raise funds for a sister, a daughter, a mother and a friend.
Her name is Kaella, she is 38 years old and is desperately needing help in raising funds for medical/travel expenses to Washington to get evaluated for a liver transplant.
Kaella is a well known soul to many and would always be willing to hug anyone who looked like they needed it. She has a joyous heart of gold and when she had her son, that truly brought out the best of her.
Even in the tough moments of having fight for custody of her son, she stayed strong. Unfortunately, months later, her health started to decline. She was suffering with abdominal pains and making frequent visits to the ER.
The hospital was sending her in circles claiming nothing would be wrong even though her labs and imaging would say otherwise. We also knew something just wasn’t right…
While she was basically being labeled as a medical mystery, we struggled to find the true source of what was going on. Despite sharing ideas of what could possibly be happening to her, doctors would insist it was nothing serious.
Her sickness continued and she appeared to be getting worse. Each visit to the ER would eventually lead to her being admitted and then discharged 2 days later….still, being left without answers.
While still having blood in her urine, abdominal pains, she then started violently vomiting and started appearing yellow.
Each time she would start getting worse, she would be crying in misery and pain and feeling like there would be no point going back to the doctors because they would say nothing is wrong.
She would reach a point she was so bad that she would finally go back in despite having no hope from previous visits. The days of being admitted became longer and it finally seemed like we were starting to get some answers.
The doctors have said that she will need to go to Washington to be evaluated for a liver transplant.
When they told us, we were naive and believed we had at least a little time to save up and get her sent off to Washington eventually. However, we are being told that it needs to be sooner.
As a large and close family, we of course will do what we can. Kaella hasn’t been able to have money put aside for her trip due to the fact that because of her health, she became too unwell to continue to work.
And just so people have an idea where the donations would go towards exactly, I can do my best to list it. With her Medicaid I believe they were saying that they would pay for the 1 trip of being transferred to Washington. So that 1 trip is covered. But there will be the other expenses that come with the long time she may be there. If the doctors in Washington are believing she is in bad shape like the Anchorage doctors, she would be staying and possibly(hopefully)be placed closer to the top of the transplant list.
If you happen to have anything you could possibly spare, any amount, we would so greatly appreciate it if you could donate to her medical/travel expenses. Though as her siblings/parents have known her many years, it would be incredibly fulfilling to give her son a chance to know his mom longer than the 6 years he has had with her.
We also are asking that you pray for Kaella in these difficult and trying times. Even if you come across a Bible verse that you think would be beneficial in sharing with her, please let me know and I will be sure to read it to her.
Thank you for taking the time in reading Kaella’s story.
*************UPDATE*************
Kaella has been transferred to the Washington hospital for the evaluation.
They have found and agreed that she is in NEED of liver transplant soon…and they went ahead and approved her!!!!!
They say it should only take 1 week until they find a match for her. After the transplant is complete, she will have to stay in Washington for approximately 8-12 weeks.
However, during her time in Washington so far, she has been experiencing issues with her BP dropping especially during dialysis. That being said, they have decided to move her to an ICU room where unfortunately our Mom can no longer stay by her side after visiting hours.
We just ask that you continue to keep Kaella in your prayers and we would like to thank you all so much for your love and support♥️
