<div>Long before they became firefighters, my sister, Maddy, and my brother-in-law, Junior, were the kind of people who always showed up when someone needed help. Whether it was supporting family, lending a hand to friends, or volunteering in their community, serving others has always been at the heart of who they are.

Today, my sister proudly serves with the Phoenix Fire Department, and her husband serves with the Surprise Fire-Medical Department. Every shift, they put on their uniforms ready to help complete strangers through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
