<div>Julie is a loving wife, devoted cat mom, and the heart behind Auntie Julie the Catsitter, where she has spent the last decade caring for hundreds of cats and the people who love them.

<div>On Monday, July 27, our lives changed in an instant. Julie suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm at home and collapsed in front of her husband, Steve. Thanks to his quick thinking and immediate call to 911, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency brain surgery to coil the ruptured aneurysm and save her life.

<div>Julie is now facing a long and difficult recovery in the Neuroscience ICU. She is expected to remain there for at least 21 days because the days following a ruptured aneurysm are the most dangerous. During this time, she is on strict bed rest and is monitored around the clock for life-threatening complications, including cerebral vasospasm, which can cause another stroke. Every hour, day and night, the medical team performs neurological checks to make sure any changes are caught immediately.

<div>While we are incredibly grateful that Julie survived, her recovery is only beginning. She will be on medical leave throughout August, and it is still unknown how long rehabilitation and healing will take after she leaves the hospital.
</div>

<div>As a self-employed professional catsitter, Julie doesn’t have paid sick leave or disability benefits. Being unable to work means the income she relies on to cover her mortgage, medical bills, and everyday living expenses has stopped overnight.

This unexpected medical crisis has forced Julie to miss an entire month of work, leaving her without income and facing mounting medical bills and everyday expenses.
