As most of you know, my nephew Kodan has multiple conditions: CHD, Dextrocardia (heart on the right side, backwards and tilted), Pulmonary Atresia, Double Outlet Right Ventricle, and VSD (a hole in his heart) and had to have surgery on November 4th.

They were only supposed to be there a few weeks, but now they are looking at the possibility of a few months due to some setbacks. After the surgery, Kodan has had to have multiple blood transfusions. He developed complex pneumonia. After that, he got the rhinovirus and went into cardiac arrest two times back to back for a total of 20 minutes and was put on a ventilator. The EEG shows a possibility of brain damage due to the lack of oxygen, his kidneys took a hit and he is now on 24/7 dialysis. He is on several antibiotics for a chest infection. He currently has an excess amount of fluid around his lungs and they had to re-open part of his chest to drain fluid, as well as put a chest tube in. He is heavily sedated and is currently on paralytic medications. At this moment, he is on standby as they are considering completely reopening his entire chest. They do not have for sure answers at this moment; it is day by day.

On Sunday, December 1st, they celebrated his first birthday. With all of this going on, Julianna is of course bedside with her baby but with that the bills, gas, and food money is all adding up very quickly. Anything would be greatly appreciated.
