<div>My name is Lisa Dawson, and I am honored to manage this GoFundMe campaign for my longtime friend from middle school, JP Riley, a talented artist and drummer in a band based in Los Angeles. Today, I reach out to you with a heavy heart, as JP's radiation and chemotherapy have failed, and his meningioma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer, has returned. JP found this news out yesterday (6/4/25).

<div>After JP's most recent radiation and chemotherapy, the tumor entered a short state of remission, but now has sadly returned.
</div>

<div>Before this, following a 5-month-long remission after a complicated procedure in 2024, the metastatic focal lesion returned. At that time, it was 3 mm in size (the last meningioma removed was 27 mm at the time of the surgical procedure), but is now 5 mm in size.

<div>JP is going to resume targeted radiation and chemotherapy ASAP. We are resuming an aggressive fight. If his radiation and chemotherapy treatments are ineffective, JP will need to undergo once again a treatment utilizing spherical nucleic acid at Northwestern University. This surgery, which is out of pocket, runs $160,000. This surgery can only be accomplished by a handful of neurosurgeons worldwide.

<div>His continued battle with cancer has prohibited JP from his usual working schedule and has prevented him from supporting himself.

<div>At just 45 years old, JP is a dedicated father, a loyal friend, and an inspiring individual who has touched the lives of many. He has always been there for those in need, and now it's our turn to support him in this challenging time. The necessary surgery to remove the tumor is life-saving, but it comes with significant medical expenses that are overwhelming for him and his family.
