Support Joshua Boicos's Battle with Leukaemia

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Mitch, and on behalf of myself and a few of Boics's close mates in the aviation community, we have collectively opened a GoFundMe to help support himself and his family in his recovery from Leukaemia. This is the official GoFundMe for Josh. (Photo above: our last big meet-up in the Gold Coast.)

Joshua (or his well-established and beloved nicknames of Boicos or Boics) was taken to hospital after feeling unwell and was quickly diagnosed with Leukaemia on the 23rd of June, 2024. Whilst remaining in high spirits during this time, Boics is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the battle against cancer at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He will be remaining there for around a month.

Boics is a passionate aviation enthusiast, working for Virgin Australia at Melbourne Airport as a ground handler. Boics is also an avid flight simulation enthusiast and VATSIM controller, an area of interest where has invested a lot of his time and the way he has met many of us through the years. In between all of this, Boics can be seen volunteering at the Caroline Springs CFS station as a volunteer firefighter. We can never not smile at how Boics will energetically rush out the door during a Discord call, as his pager beeps in the background!

Boics has a bubbly, caring and charismatic personality and there is never a dull moment when speaking with him either in or online on Discord, a place where he spends many hours per week talking with us all and playing flight simulator. Our last major catch-up with Boics was the 2023 Pacific Airshow in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, where we shared our mutual passion for aviation!

The purpose of this fundraiser is to bring some financial support to the Boicos family, we know that this is a stressful time for his brother Jordan, his parents Jason and Catherine, his family, close and distant friends and not to forget, his beloved dog Baz. We wish to raise every cent possible to help during this time to relieve any potential financial stress upon Boics and his family. We also know that Boics is unable to work during this time, and his family has plans to hopefully take Boics away on a holiday once he has recovered. All donations will be transferred directly to Boics's family.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, we all love Boics and are grateful for having him in our lives. We want him to return to his healthy self again soon!
