<div>On August 10, my brother, Jose Gonzalez Colindres, also known as Richard, was seriously injured after being hit by a car while working on a road construction crew. He and two of his coworkers were struck while preparing for a paving project. One of their coworkers tragically lost his life, while Jose and another worker were seriously injured. They were all members of local 1298. Jose suffered a severely shattered leg and had to undergo surgery. He is in a great deal of pain and has a long road to recovery ahead of him in which he will not be able to work. He will require continued medical care, follow-up appointments, rehabilitation, and time away from work while he heals.

<div>Jose is also a father of two girls, ages 9 and 10. His daughters depend on him, and this accident has suddenly left him unable to work and provide for his family the way he normally would.

We are asking for help to support Jose and his family during his recovery. Donations will help with medical expenses, rehabilitation, lost income, household bills, transportation to appointments, and his daughters’ everyday needs while he is unable to work.
