<div>On November 17, while on my way back to Dallas from a funeral in Mexico, I received the devastating news that <strong>my stepdad, Jose Duron Moran, who had raised me since I was about 10 years old, had been taken by ICE.</strong> A planned raid had been set to take a lot of immigrant workers in the state of Oklahoma. He was on his way back from work and was one of the victims, along with his brother and friend. They separated them and took them into different facilities. We did not know of his whereabouts for 40 hours until he called.
