Dear Friends,
Jose is the father of Jacobo, a 2yo, and Emily, a 11yo. They live in Medellin, Colombia. Unfortunately, in March 2024, Jose was diagnosed with Myxoid Liposarcoma in his right leg, and since then, he has been fighting a difficult battle against cancer. Jose has undergone several surgeries, which allowed him to save his leg. Unfortunately, further tests found a nodule in his left lung, requiring another surgery to remove half of his lung. Currently, Jose is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, a process that has been very painful both physically and emotionally.
This tough battle has also significantly affected Jose’s family's finances. His wife, Angelica, does not have a job as she is taking care of their children, their home, and now accompanying him when possible, to his treatments and medical appointments.
Just before the diagnosis, they had moved to a new city away from their families and friends, so sadly, they do not have anyone living nearby who could support them through this process, which places a heavy burden on the children's mom. Being a young family, they still do not own a home or a vehicle. Thus, traveling to the hospital is highly expensive. Jose and Angelica are facing overwhelming financial strain.
This GoFundMe page has been set up to help ease the financial stress and ensure Jose and his family have the resources they need in the months ahead to cover their everyday living expenses (rent, groceries, utilities, school fees, medical expenses and transportation).
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your friends and network would also be a great way to show your support.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness. Together, we can make a profound impact on Jose’s journey and show him that he’s not alone in this fight.
With gratitude,
