My name is Lillian Caldwell, daughter of Jonathan Caldwell. Jon--My father--has been on government disability for as long as I can remember. Half of the money he received in the past was given to him to take care of his daughter (me). Now that I am 18, out of highschool, and going to Miami University of Ohio, he is no longer receiving that half of the money. Previously, that money would go towards paying bills, rent, and groceries. But now he is barely able to get groceries. Without that money, we are now at risk of being evicted from our apartment.
My father struggles with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. He also has Postprandial Hyperinsulinemic Hypoglycemia, which in short means: "after eating, his pancreas produces extremely high amounts of insulin which leads to rapid drops in his blood glucose levels." My father also has chronic back pain since the bottom of his spine crooked from being 400+ pounds. His pancreatic disorder is extremely rare, since people who have it also went through Gastric Bypass surgery like my father.
Jon loves everything to do with computers, whether its troubleshooting issues, programming his own AI, running Minecraft on his Raspberry Pi, or playing his (used to be) favorite game, World of Warcraft. He also loves to cook and bake, helping out in churches, researching current and past issues, watching YouTube, and so much more. I even dubbed him as the ultimate MacGyver with his ability to make things work with random objects. Like when his front bumper came off, he was able to successfully tie it back on with a few stretched out bungee cords.
Jon has silly potty humor which I've definitely inherited. His goofy attitude has never failed to make me laugh. My father has been there for me my entire life. There were times in the past where I would be too depressed to get out of bed, so he would wake me up early just so he could put on a little show with my stuffed animals to cheer me up. He always did what he could to make me happy, and made sure that I got the things I needed. I could never ask for another father because he means so much to me. That is why I want to help him like how he has helped me. Not only do I want to be there for him, but I also want to support him financially. I cannot get a job yet, so doing this and some art commissions is my way to get the ball rolling.
I want you all to know these things because it is important to note how much of a fighter my dad is. He has had to deal with these things for over 20 years of his life, yet he continued to push on with a goofy smile and a bleeding heart.
I am asking for help because my father seems to be shutting down for the first time. There are so many bills to pay and he also needs to have enough money to get dog food for our 2 dogs. I also suspect he feels this way because I will be heading off to college.
Please donate anything you can. I'm not looking to reach this goal, but we need some money so we can pay for groceries and maybe some moving trucks so he can start thinking about cheaper places to stay. We will also be trying to sell some computer parts and maybe some other things of which I will list here when we get a chance to put them up for sale.
If anyone is interested in an art commission from me, add me @Lilmaebe on Instagram, Facebook, Discord, or take a look at my linktree/carrd.
