Latest update on my sisters journey through all of this mess. Many people have reached out and sent love and prayers. Shalyn is still battling clots in her brain (she gets released from the hospital today!) Jonathan has taken off many days and weeks to help take care of his wife and daughter. I just want to share this again to see if we can continue to bless them on this journey. ❤️
On October 11th Shalyn started having a headache. As the day progressed, she started slurring her words and blanking out. It was clear that something was wrong. After a few tests Doctors discovered that she had a blood clot in her brain. This caused hemmoraging and resulted in a stroke. Shalyn is only 25 years old. She was immediately transferred to to the Memorial Herman Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.
She is on in blood thinners and will be here for a minimum of two weeks.
Jonathan is a hard working man, but he’s not going to be leaving his brides side this week. Unfortunately there is no leave policy for his job so all the time he misses from work is going to be unpaid.
Additionally, My understanding is that while they have insurance, their copays on this bill are going to be extremely high.
Since Jonathan is my brother and one of the kindest people I know in the world, I am hoping that we can raise enough money to remove at least some of the financial stress that is inevitable as a result this ordeal.
My my brother has a HEART OF GOLD, and this it the least I can do for him during his tough time.
