John Jessen is a Firefighter Engine Boss and Captain who joined the Interior Volunteer Fire Department in January. On June 14th, while battling the South Fork Fire in Crawford, NE, John suffered a serious accident that resulted in a severe break to his right leg and significant damage to his knee. He was flown to Scottsbluff, NE, and then transferred to Loveland, CO, where he remains hospitalized and has undergone several surgeries. Doctors are working tirelessly to save his leg and foot, and John faces a long road to recovery without any income. He has a wife and five children who depend on him, and the uncertainty ahead is daunting for his entire family.

With the federal government unable to offer assistance, every donation will go directly to John and his loved ones.
