John Jessen is a Firefighter Engine Boss and Captain who joined the Interior Volunteer Fire Department in January. On June 14th, while battling the South Fork Fire in Crawford, NE, John suffered a serious accident that resulted in a severe break to his right leg and significant damage to his knee. He was flown to Scottsbluff, NE, and then transferred to Loveland, CO, where he remains hospitalized and has undergone several surgeries. Doctors are working tirelessly to save his leg and foot, and John faces a long road to recovery without any income. He has a wife and five children who depend on him, and the uncertainty ahead is daunting for his entire family.

The funds raised will help cover John's mounting medical bills, travel expenses for his family, and provide essential support as he recovers. With the federal government unable to offer assistance, every donation will go directly to John and his loved ones. This is not just a broken leg—it's a life-altering injury that will require further surgery once his leg is stable. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden and give John and his family hope during this incredibly difficult time.

John has always been a dedicated firefighter, giving his all and spending countless hours away from his family to support others during major incidents. Now, he needs the support of his community. Please consider donating to help John and his family as they navigate the challenges ahead. Your kindness and compassion will make a real difference.
