<div>Hi, my name is Alana Kirkendall, and I offered to set up this fundraiser for my sister Gabri and her husband John. John had the sudden onset of a really serious infection over the last few weeks, and due to the infection not responding to normal treatments, they had to go with enrolling in an intensive homecare program. This comes at a time where they were relying on John's income since Gabri has been having a hard time finding a job after graduating with her masters, despite her best efforts. Unfortunately, this means that money was already pretty tight when John got sick.

<div>The home health program has been helpful but intensive, with nurses coming regularly to administer IV antibiotics among many other things, and Gabri has been providing around-the-clock care to John. In the last week or so, Gabri started having intense tooth pain and ended up having a pretty extensive emergency root canal within the last day or so. This has been the first step of many to take care of her dental needs in the coming months.

<div>Truly, when it rains, it pours. With the cost of dental surgeries, home health care, and John's continued recovery, things have been quite stressful for their family. By donating, you'd be helping cover the above costs as well as John and Gabri's future healthcare needs, such as expensive medical equipment for John so he can continue to feel better and not have repeat infections.
