<div>Jimmy Payne Jr.—beloved father, teacher, and artist—has given his life to dance and to Chicago’s cultural community. Known for his grace on stage and generosity in the classroom, Jimmy has inspired thousands of students over the years as a dance professor, choreographer, and keeper of Chicago’s rich tap and jazz traditions.

<div>Recently, Jimmy was the victim of a violent attack that left him in critical condition. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit, and while his spirit remains strong, his road to recovery will be long and challenging. The attack has placed an immense physical, emotional, and financial burden on him and his family.

<div>Jimmy is not just an artist—he is a father to three daughters who have stood by him through every beat of his journey. They are now facing the difficult task of supporting his healing process while balancing their own responsibilities and care for their dad.

<div>This campaign is being organized to help cover the mounting medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and long-term recovery needs. Your support will ensure Jimmy receives the best care possible and allow his family to focus fully on his recovery rather than financial strain.

<div>For decades, Jimmy has poured his energy into uplifting others—through his teaching, mentoring, and performances that kept the soul of dance alive in Chicago. Now it’s our turn to lift him up.
