<div>Three years ago, our beloved Nana (Susan), affectionately known to many of you was diagnosed with dementia. She is now in the advanced stages of the disease. I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom, Jessie, who has been Nana’s full-time caregiver and unwavering advocate.

<div>Advanced dementia, including the late stages of Alzheimer’s disease, is characterized by severe cognitive and physical decline. Individuals may lose the ability to recognize loved ones, communicate verbally, or perform basic daily tasks such as eating, dressing, or walking. This stage often requires round-the-clock care.

<div>In February 2024, my mom made the incredibly selfless decision to move in with Nana full-time, not only to care for her day-to-day needs, but also to thoughtfully plan and prepare for the future and what she will need. She’s been juggling caregiving and working remotely, which has been a blessing but also extremely difficult. As Nana’s needs have increased, it’s become more than one person can manage. My mom is doing everything she can, but it’s starting to impact her own health and well-being and it’s clear she can’t do this alone anymore.

<div>My mom has used all insurance-covered care available to Nana this year. Her need for daily care is immediate and urgent. We’re raising funds to help hire professional caregivers to support my mom in caring for Nana at home. By helping us care for Nana, you’re also helping us care for Jessie.
