Support Jessica's Journey After Rory's Passing

Hi, my name is Jessica, and my cat Rory recently passed away after a long battle with chronic illness.
Rory was only 3 years old, and in those 3 years, he suffered from chronic ear infections as well as FIP. These ear infections led to multiple surgeries, which included a polyp removal, removal of infection from the inner ear, and finally a total ear canal ablation.
These surgeries were incredibly expensive, and on top of them, Rory was being treated for FIP, which is also a costly treatment. This does not include the countless vet visits, emergency vet stays, cost of antibiotics, medications, and more.
The day before Rory passed (10/13/24), we had taken him to the emergency vet as he began having issues breathing. He stayed overnight at the emergency vet, and the next day they wanted to do a CT scan. When he was put under for the CT, he went into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated.
We arrived shortly after and were able to spend some time holding him and saying our goodbyes. The most surreal moment came when a worker came into the room where we were saying our goodbyes and presented us with our $2,500 bill and asked us how we would like to pay. All of this treatment, just to lose him in the end.
After completely draining what I had in savings, I was still left with $6,000 of debt by the time he passed. After all of the money, sleepless nights, vet visits, and tears, we had still not been able to save him. While I do not regret a single penny spent, and would do it all over again in a heartbeat for just one more moment with him, the cost of treatment has still left us in deep debt. I am a grad student pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I want to be able to use this degree to help people, and I don't want to have to leave college to be able to pay off this debt. Any donation will help me pay off this debt. Every dollar helps.
I would greatly appreciate any contributions or shares. Thank you so much for your time.
