<div>Hello, My name is Jerry Dowell and I am a 76 year old veteran, singer/songwriter/guitarist and harmonica player. Or at least I used to be those things, about 10 years or so ago I got diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It put a hault to my performing and recording songs because I lost my ability to play the guitar. It has been very hard and depressing not being able to do the one thing I’ve loved since I was a child and have no way to release my emotions anymore because I’ve always done it through my guitar and singing. I still write songs and work part time even though it gets really difficult  sometimes because I get dizzy and struggle with extreme fatigue and sometimes my legs don’t want to do what I tell the to but I don’t qualify for disability because of my age. When I applied for disability last year I was told I didn’t qualify because of my age and I tried a few times but kept denying me. My wife works full time and on top of that she holds the house together taking care of the anything I need, the children, the house and the animals. I don’t like asking for help and in fact the only reason I am is because my wife said we should try this to see if we can get any help this way, we usually just try to push my music out to everyone and try and get as many streamers as possible with the prayer that something would go viral and maybe release me from my current job and I could make money from all the work I dedicated my entire life to.  Unfortunately that hasn’t happened and now we are stuck at a hard place because a big buck decided to run into the front driver side of our only reliable car that we were still paying on and even though it looked like a somewhat easy fix it had more damage under the hood so the insurance company totaled it out. Well we thought we will just keep the car and get a salvage title and just replace the things we could from a pick and pull but unfortunately until the car is repaired and gets a title that isn’t salvage it’s illegal to drive it on the road because the insurance company claimed it not road worthy. On top of that they will only pay 9100 on the car because with the current miles it’s top price is 9500 but we still owe 12500 so we are paying for a car we don’t have anymore, Our loan people also denied us getting a salvage title because we still owed money on it after the insurance company paid them. Here is where I need everyone’s help who feels they would like to help, we need a down payment so that they can roll over the remaining balance onto a new car loan and we can start all over on our car payments. We owed 2yrs on this car so kind of a bummer we got to start over but in the end all that matters is no one was hurt, cars can be replaced but lives can’t and we had 4 children in the car when the accident happened on the interstate.  We need a car desperately we work 1hr away at FedEx and I have regular doctor appointments for my Parkinson’s, I have my monthly check in with my regular doctor and then my neurologist every 1 to 2 months and in January I have a urologist appointment and these appointments are detrimental for my health. I have to go get my prescription refills and then we have our 11yr old nephew who lives with us and has to be picked up after school activities and on Tuesday from his youth group. I really hate asking again I apologize for bringing my troubles to strangers but sometimes you have to put your pride aside when things are out of your hands and understand it’s ok to ask for help when you’ve done all you could. I know this was a long post and I’ll be surprised if anyone actually reads the whole thing but if you did I appreciate you and thank you everyone I hope y’all have a very beautiful Christmas ❤️
