<div>UPDATE 10/31 - Firstly, I would like to thank everybody for the donations and love. It is so appreciated and needed right now. With this being said, we have raised the goal as of today, based on the medical bills she’s already started receiving. She is currently $34,000 in debt from just 1 hospital alone, not including the hospital she initially began treatment at and the ambulance ride that transported her to Temple. My mom does not have medical insurance and will never be able to work again, which significantly reduces the income that pays their bills. Alongside this, my mom will need a long-term caretaker which will be my step-dad, also reducing his ability to work and provide income. All donations will go towards her medical bills &amp; potentially helping with rent payments for the time being as well.

<div>My mom, <strong>Jennifer Hernandez</strong>, recently had a severe medical situation occur over this past weekend that has horribly resulted in her becoming permanently blind. With this being said, my mom has dealt with autoimmune deficiency for the majority of her life and is now being diagnosed with a new autoimmune disease that has been a factor in losing her vision. She has been in the hospital for days, undergoing numerous tests and being treated by multiple different doctors, all from different wards of the hospital. She was transported to Temple on Saturday and has not been released yet. <strong>With her recent diagnosis, they wanted to remove her eye completely to stop the bacteria and infection from spreading any further.</strong> She is receiving round-the-clock care and is a hair away from being in the ICU if anything else goes wrong.

<div>Alongside this, my mom does not have medical insurance. My step-dad, Pedro Hernandez, owns the small, family-owned business that she's been working for. Because of everything that has happened, it has and will continue to take a tremendous toll on their business and ability to continue working (she can no longer work, and he is currently her 24/7 caretaker) and their financial situation, especially without insurance.
