Support Jenn Maynard's Cancer Fight

Family and friends of Jenn Steele Maynard and Bill Maynard, these wonderful people need our help over the coming months. A detailed description of what they are facing is outlined below from a post Bill put on Facebook this week. What the story doesn’t tell you is that we know that Jenn has Thyroid Lymphoma – the stage of the cancer and treatment plan is to be determined. The challenge this beautiful couple faces, in addition to this medical horror, is the potential to lose everything they have worked so very hard for: their business, their home, their financial security. Bill is not able to leave Jenn for long periods of time due to the seizures she is having from the head / neck injury from the accident where this all started. This makes it very difficult for him to work and keep the family afloat. We are in early planning stages of a fundraiser to help them offset medical and living expenses while they prepare for the battle ahead. We will need all the help we can get from local businesses in Titusville, Port St. John, Cocoa, Rockledge, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral for first of October benefit – target date is October 8th.
While we plan the benefit, we are opening a Fundraiser account so that people can donate whatever they heart leads them to in order to help our friends in the interim.

Because of this drunk driver and the accident this accident saved my wife's life. Yes…saved. This does not excuse his selfishness in what he did to us .........at all!! ......The lord seen him already fixing to hurt someone else that didn't deserve what wrath was fixing to deliver ... which very well could have been death to someone else. I know he used him to stop us instead. There is no doubt in my mind that things happen for a reason. We did not think we would ever understand it until….through one of Jenn's neck MRI's after the accident they found a growth on her thyroid and told us you may want to have it checked out, well we did and it was CANCER! So the front part of the thyroid was removed but she had difficulties because she also acquired Post Traumatic Epilepsy from the accident which showed up a month later in January. She will have this for life but it can be controlled in time.... that hasn't happened yet as it’s a slow process to find the right meds. The day of the surgery she had a seizure right before the surgery, during the surgery and in recovery while I was there. She had 5-6 a day after that which are down to 1-2 a day now. She is so strong!!! I can’t believe this how incredible she is. After the first surgery the doctor told us he had to take the whole thyroid because he had found another growth on the other half of the thyroid which came back a different cancer a long with the parathyroid glands 2 were removed and 2 hopefully are still good. They are dormant as of right now. This is why she was in the hospital again for a week last week because of calcium levels dangerously low ( she was getting stroke conditions ) while we were there last week trying to get all these levels up and he mentioned a 3rd cancer found. We are not sure what type of cancer this is..we will learn more in the coming weeks. Right now the thyroid has been passed from doctor to doctor to doctor for the past 4 weeks to come to some conclusion as to the species of caner it may be. He told us but right now only a few people know and were trying to stay positive as much as we can and hope it isn't what he is saying. We have a long road ahead of us but we will get through this. So yes, things do happen for a reason. They may not seem right and they are cruel and what have you, but God knew that this was the only way that he could make us get an ultra sound done, we would have never thought to look because she never had a thyroid issue. The technology today is just awesome and we are positive that with God’s hands and his guidance we will get through this. I know this! I feel this! We feel this!
