<div>Jeff was born with chronic kidney disease also called chronic kidney failure, which involves a gradual loss of kidney function over time. Kidneys filter wastes and excess fluids from your blood, which are then removed in your urine. Advanced chronic kidney disease can cause dangerous levels of fluid, electrolytes and wastes to build up in your body. In 2024, Jeff was considered at end stage kidney failure and he would need to have a kidney transplant.

<div>Although Keli, Jeff's wife, was not a kidney match for him. She donated a kidney on February 4th, 2025 and not only saved a life but also helped to bump Jeff up on the transplant list in hopes that we will get a kidney as soon as possible. Though he was told that it would take 3 - 6 months for a kidney match to be found. He got the call on February 14th that a match has been found and he is scheduled for surgery March 11!

<div>As you can imagine, through this process the Coffman's have faced many expenses and will continually do so as Jeff recovers over the next 6 months including travel to and from Salt Lake City, Airbnb's to stay near the hospital after Jeff's transplant, both Keli and Jeff will need to take significant time off of work, special food for a kidney friendly diet, and so much more.
