Hi Friends,
For my birthday this year, I decided to set up a Go Fund Me account. As many of you know the past few years of my pilgrim journey here has been filled with many afflictions, trials, losses, and abandonment on many levels. This series of events has resulted in bringing me to a desert wilderness both spiritually and physically. It has been a very painful journey.
At the end of last year, a week after my little Peanut died, the person that I had been caring for for over 2 years, sadly also died. Along with the grief that accompanies such deaths, the combination of events greatly impacted my finances. I continued to work at my 2nd job to bring in finances as I pursued my education. In June of this year, I finished school, graduating with high honors.
In the midst of my final semester, I moved into an RV in the desert, which, though a blessing, made my commuting to school and access to clean, running water and technology especially challenging. However, I'm very thankful that I made it through school and that the Lord has provided a place for me and my pets to be inside from the outside elements. Though my time on this land is only temporary.
During finals week in June, I began to pursue another job, going to interviews, speaking to managers in different fields of employment, submitting resumes and seeking to fill up the hours that were reserved for school. Sadly, my attempts have come to no avail. I have not found secondary employment here. I've never had trouble securing a job before. So I began picking up more serving shifts at the restaurant I work for but have overused my right foot and it is injured now. It is very painful to work on it right now, though I continue to force myself to because I really have no other good choice.
On Aug. 1st, the day I was going to apply for nursing school, I found myself on a plane headed to Texas after being gifted with round trip tickets by a friend. The trip was a wonderful blessing full of friendship, fellowship and evangelism. Since I have returned home, all I can think of is desiring to go back and to be with the Brethren and Sistren ;) there.
Since I have returned, I have been praying about moving there and have been in contact with various people there. One of my friend's is a job recruiter who is currently working in an H.R. Dept. She is currently helping me polish up my resume and looking for employment opportunities for me there. There is also schooling options to pursue education there. Another friend works in real estate and is looking for housing options. There is also the option of relocating this Rv there, but admittedly, the thought of driving it so far and parking it in "tornado alley" makes me nervous.
In any case, I'm seriously praying about moving to Texas. I don't feel like I have the strength to take on nursing school with my living arrangements and lack in stable income. I'm wearied and very much alone here in the desert. It is not a healthy place for my mind and heart. I'm very isolated. I also do not have a church home out here, though remaining in good standing as a member of my church in Anaheim.
So with all of this said, I'm throwing out a hook into the waters of Texas to see if anything catches and if opportunities open to me, I plan to move and head that direction. The money I'm raising here is dual purpose at this point. It is to provide for the living expenses for me and my little animals, and if the Lord opens the door of opportunity to me in Texas, can also can be used for transitioning/living expenses. If the door does not open to Texas, the funds will still go to provide for my living.
My struggles have been great... more than I can share here, but Jesus has been and is with me. I'm following His bloody footsteps home. He went to the cross for me and calls me to take up my cross and follow Him, in gratitude. Goodness and mercy are pursuing me home, as they are all His saints. At the end of all this pain, suffering and death, is resurrection. Here I have no lasting city. I'm seeking the city that is to come. I'm thankful that my standing with God is not based on my works but is solely based on Christ and His righteousness and perfect works for me, in my place, or I would have no hope. His life, death, burial, resurrection, current intercession and His soon return, gives me much consolation in this "veil of tears".
If the Lord puts me and my situation on your heart, please pray for me and consider donating to my Go Fund Me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
In Christ,
Jaylene
