Support Jay Holm's Battle Against Rare Cancer

Hello everyone, I am starting this Go Fund Me in hopes of helping my parents through a really tough time for them right now.
Back in March my dad (Jay Holm) had a bump begin to form on the bottom of his foot. By April it was getting pretty big and became painful for him to walk so he went to the doctor. They tried to drain the bump and all that came out was blood and it would not go down. They sent him for an Xray and MRI and determined that it was just a hematoma. They were going to go in and do surgery to drain and clean it and stitch him back up. Done and good.
When they did the surgery in April there was some fatty tissue in there as well. They were not worried about it at all but sent it to pathology to be sure. 3 weeks later the results came back. He has what it called CIC_DUX4 Sarcoma. A VERY rare and aggressive form of cancer. Sarcoma is only 1% of all cancers and his type of Sarcoma is less then 1% of all Sarcoma’s. Below is a stat from December of 2022.
CIC–DUX4 fusion-positive sarcoma is a subtype of undifferentiated small round cell sarcoma that is rarely reported. As far as we know, less than 200 cases have been reported worldwide to date. The clinicopathologic characteristics of this kind of tumor are non-specific, which makes it difficult to be diagnosed.
Since those pathology results came back it has been a whirlwind for my parents. Dr’s appts, multiple CT and PET scans, MRI’s, Labs Test’s, ETC. He is just about to start his 4th round of Chemo on August 12th. He has to be admitted to be admitted to the hospital for 7 days of continuous 24/7 Chemo running into his veins. He then comes home for 3 weeks with nurse visits 3 times a week to do labs just to do that same process all over again. With the Chemo and how it makes him feel during and after the treatments, along with the 3 time a week nurse visits, he has had to quit his job. He has filed for Social Security Disability, but that is a VERY slow process and there is a 5 month waiting period where you don’t get paid at all. This leaves my mom (Dawn Holm) as the only income they now have. Due to my dad having to quit his job after already maxing out his deductible for his insurance he had to join my mom’s. They now have maxed out both within a month, leaving them with over $12,000 in medical bills as of now. She goes with my dad and stays and works from the hospital the whole week he is in there and tries to work around all of his appointments.
After this 4th round of Chemo, he will be having either radiation first or go straight for surgery to go in and remove a big chunk of the bottom of his foot. He will have an open wound for 2 weeks before they then do plastic surgery to rebuild the bottom of his foot the best they can. After radiation and surgery, he will then need another 6-8 rounds of Chemo again. So back to the 1 week in 3 weeks out routine.
As you can see this is going to be a very long process and any, and all help would be GREATLY appreciated to help ease the stresses they are experiencing right now. Medical bills continue to pour in everyday. Please consider donating either to this Go Fund Me, or gift cards for meals to help while they are at the hospital (my dad can’t stomach hospital food anymore and at times refuses to eat because the Chemo as wrecked his taste buds). Gas cards for tips back and forth, Venmo, ETC. If you are not able to help financially your continued prayers and support mean the WORLD to them!! Putting all our trust in our faithful Lord and Savior.
Thank you all, God Bless You
