Support Jason's Urgent Needs and Care

I can’t believe I am doing this but at this moment we have no other option. A very close friend of ours came to us a year ago and asked us to take his 10 year old son, Jason, if anything ever happened to him. 2 weeks ago, he slipped and fell and had another stroke, he has been in ICU ever since. We thought he was heading in the right direction but yesterday, he crashed and he now the prognosis isn’t encouraging. They worked on bringing him back for 10 minutes, they got him back but brain activity is not happening anymore.

of course, we took his son, he’s such a great kid and his mom is not in a place that she can continue to care for or provide for him at the moment . So we are going to keep this promise because he deserves so much more! But with David losing his job, we can’t afford even our bills and this kid has no health insurance. He needs glasses and clothes. All he has right now is a small basket of clothes. I have been letting him use my glasses until we can figure out what to do both legally and financially. The most urgent thing is help getting him taken care of while we plan the last stages of life for his dad!

We were planning a trip to Cancun with my job next week but I am giving it up because we can’t leave this kid right now. We will make sure he has everything he needs but right now while we are still waiting on David’s unemployment, we desperately need help to get him into an eye doctor, Money for glasses and possibly for an attorney. Not to mention just taking care of what he needs for school at the end of the year and food.

For those that know us, you know we have only had cats so this trip into parenting is new territory for us but I will not let this kid down! I know with time we can get some help through his dad after he passes but until then, we are at a loss. His shoes are falling apart, he’s running out of clothes but the most urgent thing is getting him into a doctor and get him glasses. Every penny we have is going to this amazing little kid but it’s just not enough by a long shot. So I am having to ask for help, just so we can get what he needs for now until we figure out what the future holds!
