<div>Jason and the whole Moyer family are what we call "framily"—friends who have become like part of our family. They are kind, funny, and the most giving, servant-hearted, Christ-loving people you could meet. It's been a rough year and we're asking if you'd consider helping them through what we pray is the final part of this difficult journey.

<div>October 22, 2024 is a day we will remember for years to come. God made us aware of a journey we had been on for quite some time that we were unaware of. That morning, Jason received a text message from his urologist, who he had seen the afternoon before, just as he was heading to work. He was in renal failure and needed to go to the ER as his potassium levels were high and rising. His kidney was no longer able to keep the potassium in check. (Yes, kidney, he lost the other when he was a teenager). When we arrived at the ER, his potassium levels had already risen a half point. At that rate, he would likely have had a heart attack and died within 24-48 hours. God thankfully chose to spare him.

<div>The reality is his kidney had shown signs it was struggling to keep up as early as September 2023. He just assumed that the random symptoms, like itchy skin and not feeling 100%, were due to a host of other things. In December 2023, he had labs drawn as part of a normal physical, but his primary care doctor (PCP) didn't say anything about his already rising creatinine levels. Over the summer of 2024, Jason's energy levels plummeted. Originally, we thought it was a change in diet, but even after getting off the diet, his energy didn't return. His PCP ran two anemia tests, with conflicting results, in early September but did not run a basic blood panel. Had he done so, we would have known then that he was in renal failure, but it took another several weeks and a different doctor before we knew how bad things were.

<div>While God could have miraculously healed him at any point in time, He chose not to. So in December 2024, Jason had a port placed and began dialysis to help his body remove waste as his kidney was only functioning about 6.6%.

<div>This past year, God has shown His great provision and love for us as a family. He has kept Jason healthy and improving while we navigated the struggles that have come with trying to get a transplant. The people at the dialysis center have been wonderful. God has drawn us closer to Him, each individually, and us closer together as a family. Amazingly, He will also be granting our petition to renew Jason's body with a new kidney. His brother is a willing donor and a near perfect match. Surgery is scheduled for December 15. With transplant comes many new and unknown things, but it will lead to a much better health outcome for Jason.

<div>All glory be to God for His great love and care for His people. We have been greatly blessed by this experience despite the many struggles that have come with it. We look forward to seeing what God does through this and through us.
