<div>On November 23rd, 2021, Jason was admitted to the hospital with Covid and was given a 5% chance of survival. Two days later, Thanksgiving Day, he was put in a coma and given a tracheotomy. He spent about 50 days in the coma on the ventilator and 2 1/2 years in 2 different hospitals and 2 different rehab facilities. Because of being in bed for so long, his right leg and left hand became paralyzed, and an infection in his hip went septic, which could only be cured by having his right hip joint removed.

<div>Because Jason has an unshakable faith in God and a will of steel, he has beaten all odds and was discharged last year in June. Unfortunately, Jason will probably always be in a wheelchair and has been having to depend on city buses and PAL buses to get around, both of which, unfortunately, are not always dependable or go to places he needs to be.

<div>Church (he has to drive his power chair 40 minutes to get there, driving on Niagara Falls Blvd. for a bit while sidewalks are being worked on, and unable to go in bad weather), work (he’s a substitute teacher for the NT school system), grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, banking, volunteering at the gift shop at ECMC, family gatherings, and Bills games, just to name a few.

<div>Jason is now working with two different organizations that will modify a van to accommodate his needs; however, he has to buy the van himself. There are several restrictions such as year, mileage, and size, which will make it a more expensive vehicle. <strong>With your help, we are hoping to raise at least $10,000 - $15,000 to make a down payment and give him the freedom he’s worked so very hard for!</strong>
