Support James Tigabasa in his battle with illnes

Donation protected
We are raising money for an amazing man James Tigabasa, who is fighting the battle with some serious illness. James is an honorable man who could really use the financial support to win this fight, for himself & for his family. Your support is greatly appreciated & will make a huge difference in him and his families life. Please read his story below.

James Tigabasa was born in Uganda. In the 1960s, he walked to school wearing just a long shirt because he had no pants. He grew up in a hut with mud walls, a grass roof and no running water.

At age 10, he started to caddy at a local golf course and quickly realized that Golf was his passion

It was there that Tigabasa, age 30,  saw something unimaginable on the clubhouse TV: a black man winning a golf tournament. Tiger Woods, the Masters, 1997. The event that changed the course of Tigabasa’s life. In 2000, James applied for and was granted legal entry into the US. Unfortunately he had to leave behind his wife and three children in Uganda

He found a job teaching golf at the Dad Miller Golf Course in Anaheim and working in the club house to supplement his income. He was so proud of the impact his teaching was having on the local kids lives that he kept talking about them all the time. He lived frugally and never took a holiday while in the US, just to make sure that all the money he saved was sent to support his family back home to pay for their daily needs as well as his children’s education.

Two weeks ago James was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He has since undergone surgery to remove his tumor, but, since then, the doctors have found that he needs another surgery to remove a clot from his colon. All this means is that James has been and will be spending a considerable amount of time in and out of hospital in the next few months, while his medical bills and other costs pile up.

To us, James embodies the best values of a loving father for his family, a caring coach to all he has taught and a true friend. We have started this campaign to collect money so that James is able to not only pay his portion of the medical bills, but also have enough money to continue to support his family and possibly finance a trip for his family to meet him after all these years. We are seeking at least $15,000 for this cause.
