Hello everyone,
My name is Seba, and as many of you may have heard, Hurricane Melissa has caused catastrophic damage across my home country, Jamaica. In the wake of the storm, the island is only beginning to grasp the magnitude of the uphill battle we face—it may take years to fully recover. Homes and jobs have been lost, roads are impassable due to deep mud, and many people remain unreachable. Food shortages have already begun, and price gouging is on the rise.
While aid has begun to arrive from non-profit organizations, other countries, and generous individuals, the need remains immense—I feel a deep responsibility to take action and help my people rebuild.
After much thought about the most effective way to help not only my family but also others in the community, I have decided to start a GoFundMe campaign. After consulting with family and friends back home, we believe the best way to provide support is through financial assistance, allowing people to meet their immediate needs—such as food, roof repairs, home and school restoration.
We are deeply grateful for any contribution you can make. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
Warm regards,
Seba Godfrey
