Hi, I'm Jaleesa, and like many of you, I grew up watching planes soar overhead, dreaming of reaching new heights. As a flight attendant, I've had the privilege of helping others reach their destinations, but now I'm ready to take the next step: becoming a pilot. I've been accepted into United Aviate Academy—an incredible opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot and pave the way for other young Black women in aviation. But I can't make this journey alone, and that's where your support could make all the difference.
As a Black woman, I want to break barriers in aviation, an industry where less than 1% of pilots are Black women. Representation matters, and I hope to inspire others who, like me, never saw someone who looked like them in this field. My goal is to earn my pilot’s license and eventually mentor and encourage the next generation of aspiring aviators.
Flight training is expensive, covering tuition, flight hours, exams, and certifications. Despite working hard and applying for scholarships, the financial burden is still overwhelming. With your support, I can cover the costs of flight school, allowing me to focus on my training and reach new heights.
Every donation, big or small, gets me one step closer to my dream. I’ve calculated that if I can get 1,110 people to donate $100, I’ll have my tuition covered. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing my story means the world to me. Thank you for believing in me and helping me take flight—literally!
