Ya’at eeh Friends and Relatives,

As many of you know, Jake Tsinnijinnie (Blackbear) Singer is the keeper of the Warrior Staff for the Dine nation. His father and mother both come from lineages of traditional healers. He has been a traditional healer and a Road Man for over 40 years, and is a revered senior Eagle Dancer in the Sundance ceremonial tradition.

He regularly leads tipi ceremonies and sweat lodges to pray for any person that requests help. Whenever and wherever he is called upon he will pray for people and help them however he can. Yet despite his prayers, Jake expresses, “I am not the healer, I just open doors for people to be healed by the spiritual guardians and the Creator of the heavens and the Earth”.

Jake  having served in the Vietnam War, he is also an activist who has worked tirelessly for the rights and improvement of the lives of Native American veterans. He is the founder of  Walk With Warriors.  He has also walked across the United States from coast to coast twice, to raise awareness on the difficulties American Indian veterans – and all veterans – face.

We are asking for your help as Jake Singer is going through challenging financial times. Jackie Singer is 100% disabled and a veteran with limited income. Currently most of his revenue goes to his mortgage, the upkeep of the house and surrounding land. The Winter season is especially hard due to the expenses incurred to maintain the oil heating system to keep his house warm

Any amount you may be able to donate to helping him is greatly appreciated.

Here on, I will list some of the financial responsibilities Jackie Singer is facing at the moment.

-   At this time, his car needs a transmission repair costing $3,350.00.

-  He will be traveling to and from Washington D.C. to introduce the resolution for American Indian Veterans Day, where a      spokesperson will be representing  Jake in the House and in the Senate.

-  Jake’s four grandsons and his daughter will be graduating at the end of this Spring.

-  Jake will be leading and supporting men and women through their Vision Quest soon.

-  He will be preparing Sundancers with Sundance equipment.

-  He will be traveling to and from South Dakota for Sundance in the summer.  Jake will need funds for gas, covering food expenses, providing gifts for the give-away for the Sundancers.

-  At home turf; the sewer needs to be drained due to all the traffic of people in and out of the house for sweat lodges, Native American Church and Vision Quest ceremonies.

-  The water line needs to be serviced for Jake's house.

Jake Tsinnijinnie (Blackbear) Singer adds:

These responsibilities fall under my respect for Medicine people and all my relations. Also my willingness to help Native Veterans. Hoping through proper recognition they will get better benefits regardless of where they live.

All donations are welcome and will be greatly appreciated, regardless of the amount. We highly appreciate your help.

Much love,

               Jake Singer and his family
