<div>My name is Jess Wade, I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend Kat, her partner and their beautiful daughter River. To say the least, the past year has been a very intense and devastating time for their sweet little family. On top of grieving the loss of Jake’s mother, his health has taken a tremendous spiral.

<div>In April, Jake was hospitalized with a glucose level in the 500’s. He had a five-day hospital stay to get his glucose levels down and while they treated that, they also treated his arrhythmia. Jake has dealt with arrhythmia since he was a child but this time they had to do a procedure to get it back on track. He was sedated and they did an internal defibrillation to shock his heart back into rhythm. Insulin and heart medications kept everything level until May, around River’s Birthday, when he started experiencing extreme abdominal pain. He was immediately hospitalized. After CT scans and X Rays were done, they found that he had pancreatitis, and an abscess on his pancreas. He also has a distended abdomen from fluid build up from another organ which is unknown at this time. His fluid build up in his legs makes it nearly impossible to walk on his own. For now, he is on a liquid diet until they decide to go in and drain the fluid. They are keeping a close eye on him, but if he doesn’t stay hospitalized the Doctors said that he will, without a doubt, die. So, needless to say, he will be staying until they can get his condition stabilized. As of now, the outlook seems to be at the very least a month that he will remain under hospital care. Recovery time will have to be determined at a later date.

<div>Kat is such a fierce, kind, caring mother and partner as well as an incredible artist. At this time her only means of supporting her family through these trials is her small business which has to be slowed in order to juggle the everyday struggles they will be going through. <strong>The donations from this fundraiser will go toward ensuring she can keep their house, rent being a big part ($1,100 an month) and utilities paid for as well as travel to and from the hospital and medical expenses.</strong> Updates on Jake’s condition will be posted as I receive them.
