<div>Hi, my name is Jade Von and I’m a trauma survivor. But I’m so much more than that and I would like to feel I can live that. At 33 I decided to give my younger self her dream. So I’m currently working on my debut rock album —a raw and emotional project that tells the story of pain, survival, and transformation.

<div>This album isn’t just music to me—it’s therapy. It’s my way of healing, processing, and reclaiming my story after living with complex PTSD (CPTSD) caused by years of abuse. For most of my life, I endured trauma, both outside and inside the U.S. (moved with my abuser to the U.S.) I’ve been in a great therapy for almost a year now, and it’s changed my life—but it’s a long journey, and I’m still on it.

<div>Because of my CPTSD, I haven’t been able to hold a regular job since last year. The last one I had was difficult to get, and when I had it, it triggered constant panic and fear for almost 2 years. I was also living in a state where I had lived through some of the worst years of my life, and staying there was hurting my recovery. I made the hard decision to leave and pursue my healing full time.

<div>I don’t qualify for free healthcare because we can’t afford regular healthcare yet. I also don’t qualify for disability or for lawyers to help me claim that disability, despite having a diagnosis and a documented case that led to the incarceration of my abuser. One reason is that most of my trauma happened outside the U.S., and my therapist (the one that has helped so much and I can afford) is based in Nicaragua, making her records “insufficient” according to the system.

<div>Right now, my husband supports us so we can have a roof, food, and therapy. We are stable, but we don’t have extra to fund a creative project like this. And this project is so much more than just creative—it’s life-giving.

<div>I’m asking for help because I believe this album can not only help me heal, but also reach others who feel broken, silenced, or unseen. It’s for survivors, for those still in the dark, for the misfits who turned their pain into art.

Actualmente estoy trabajando en mi álbum debut de rock —un proyecto crudo y emocional que cuenta una historia de dolor, supervivencia y transformación.

<div>Este álbum no es solo música para mí—es terapia. Es mi forma de sanar, procesar y recuperar mi historia después de vivir con TEPT Complejo (CPTSD) como resultado de años de abuso. Durante la mayor parte de mi vida, pasé por traumas tanto fuera como dentro de los Estados Unidos (me mudé a EE. UU. con mi abusador). Llevo casi un año en una muy buena terapia que ha cambiado mi vida—pero es un camino largo, y aún lo estoy recorriendo.

<div>Por causa de mi CPTSD, no he podido mantener un trabajo “normal” desde el año pasado. El último que tuve fue muy difícil de conseguir, y durante casi dos años me causó pánico y miedo constante. Además, vivía en un estado donde había pasado por los peores años de mi vida, y quedarme ahí estaba afectando mi proceso de sanación. Tomé la difícil decisión de irme y dedicarme a sanar a tiempo completo.

<div>No califico para seguro médico gratuito porque no ganamos lo suficiente para pagar uno privado, pero tampoco calificamos para ayuda del gobierno. Tampoco califico para beneficios por discapacidad, ni para abogados que me ayuden a solicitarlos, aunque tengo diagnóstico y pruebas documentadas que llevaron al encarcelamiento de mi abusador. Una de las razones es que gran parte de mi trauma ocurrió fuera de EE. UU., y mi terapeuta está en Nicaragua, por lo que sus registros no son “suficientes” para el sistema.

<div>Actualmente, mi esposo nos sostiene para que podamos tener un techo, comida y acceso a terapia. Estamos estables, pero no tenemos recursos extra para financiar un proyecto creativo como este. Y este proyecto es mucho más que creativo—es una forma de vida.

<div>Pido ayuda porque creo que este álbum no solo me ayudará a sanar a mí, sino que también puede llegar a otras personas que se sienten rotas, silenciadas o invisibles. Es para los sobrevivientes, para quienes todavía están en la oscuridad, para los inadaptados que convirtieron su dolor en arte.
