<div>My name is Linda, and I’m raising funds for my son, <strong>Jacob Roll</strong>, to help us travel to Asunción, Paraguay, so he can compete in the junior street scooter competition at the World Skate Games in October. Jacob has been scootering for fun for years, but over the last two years he has become deeply committed to the sport. He won the Arizona qualifying event, competed at the recent USA Roller Sports national competition in San Diego, and qualified for a spot at World Skate. I am so proud of the dedication he has shown as he trains, travels to skate parks and competitions, and continues building friendships and community in the scooter world. He is kind, humble, and hardworking, and younger kids at the skate park truly look up to him. <div>The challenge for our family is that scooter sports are still growing in the United States, so there is very little financial support available for riders. While USA Roller Sports covers Jacob’s registration fees, families are responsible for nearly everything else. Because Jacob is a minor, I need to travel with him, and <strong>these funds will help cover two round-trip plane tickets to Paraguay, hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the venue, and meals while we are there.</strong> This is the kind of opportunity any parent would want for their child: the chance to represent their sport, experience another culture, and grow through competition on an international stage.
