Hi! My name is Ivy! I am 21 years old and I’m currently a senior at Anna Maria College, where I play on the Women’s Lacrosse Team as an attacker. I am from Charlton, MA, where I started playing lacrosse at Bay Path Regional Vocational High School. I began playing lacrosse at 16 years old, and though I haven’t been playing for long, lacrosse has given me so much. Lacrosse has helped me build confidence both on and off the field. Lacrosse has provided me with lifelong friendships with teammates. It has also provided me with motivation and resilience that I’m able to utilize in all aspects of life. Most importantly, lacrosse has provided me with enjoyment; I absolutely love lacrosse and always try to give it my all while I still have the opportunity to play.
Recently, I have been given the amazing opportunity to play lacrosse in Japan this summer, June 2025 for the 2025 Women’s Lacrosse Tour by Beyond Sports Tours. I have been invited by Beyond Sports Tours for their travel program, where once a year both a men’s and women’s lacrosse team, made up of roughly 20 players, are chosen to compete in high-level lacrosse games in another country. During this trip we will also be touring the country and seeing many incredible attractions. Beyond Sports selects college athletes to assist in their mission of “connecting the world through sports.” This lacrosse tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Taking part in this tour will not only allow me to travel to a country I’ve dreamt of visiting, but it’ll improve who I am as a lacrosse player. This opportunity will allow me to expand my lacrosse knowledge and skills, which will help both myself and my teammates. With this gained knowledge, I also hope to be able to help others learn more about lacrosse. In the future, I aspire to become a lacrosse coach and be able to help others fall in love with lacrosse like I did. This lacrosse tour will also allow me to build lifelong friendships with my teammates and opponents alike.
Unfortunately, this opportunity to play lacrosse in Japan is expensive, and I do not have enough funds myself to cover the costs. I have created this GoFundMe in hopes that anyone wishing to support my lacrosse career and dream, can do so. The cost of the trip is $6,395. This cost includes 9 nights of lodging accommodations (6 nights in Tokyo and 3 in Kyoto), two meals daily, all transportation, all excursions included in itinerary, uniform, in-country staff support, international health insurance, and round-trip airfare.
I’m working hard to try to make and save as much money myself to cover funds. With my families help, we are working together to save every penny we can. I am picking up odd jobs and finding various ways to raise money, such as collecting and donating cans, selling old sports equipment, electronics, textbooks, clothes, etc, and helping out whoever will let me!
Thank you for taking the time to read this! If you are able to donate and would like to, thank you so much! Whether you are able to donate or not, please consider sharing this post as it helps just as much! Once again, I am extremely honored to have been invited to take part in this amazing opportunity and I appreciate your efforts to help me take part in this Lacrosse Tour!
