Issah is my neighbor, and his story is one of both tragedy and hope. Not long ago, Issah was thrown into a pool and struck his head on the cement floor, causing severe brain damage. The accident left him a quadriplegic, and his life—and the lives of his family—changed forever. His father did everything he could, even using his 401K savings to cover the mounting medical bills, but those funds have now run out. Despite these hardships, Issah’s parents remain determined to give him the best care possible and help him regain some sense of normalcy.

Recently, Issah’s family began cell therapy treatments in hopes of improving his quality of life. Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by insurance, and the family must travel six hours from Southern California to Arizona for each session. To make matters even more challenging, their van has broken down, making it nearly impossible to get Issah to his appointments. The need for ongoing care, therapy, and reliable transportation has placed a tremendous financial burden on the family.
