Hello- my name is Hezra Moore. I raised 8 kids, primarily alone. They are 17 -28. 4 boys, 4 girls. As a family we have been through so much loss. We lost two brothers in 2020. But, as an individual, my son Isaiah (of whom I am so proud) has had to struggle even more. He has had to be brave, make life altering choices, and deal with grief, pain and anxiety. A tbi in 2020 also created a curveball in getting a diagnosis because his seizures were blamed on that. Recently he has (finally) been diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy. He has had it since infancy. I’ve struggled his whole life trying to get a true diagnosis. Even now we need a full work up to know exactly which branch of the rare form he has. So now he has had to stop work to focus on health. Working on short term disability paperwork, navigating medical mazes, and come to grips with a surprise diagnosis. I’m so proud of him for advocating for himself, being willing and glad for support. Having a young woman by his side who loves him beyond this world. He wants so desperately to get better so he can provide for their family. They are planning to get married soon.(within days!) For right now he has no income. No news yet of short term disability. The Dr. firmly said this is what you must do. So, against my normal self, I feel led to ask if you feel led to shower my kid and the love of his life with sprinkles of any denomination of funds, I would be most grateful and I know it will bring these kind souls happy tears.
