On 04/15/25 we took our daughter, Isabella to Phoenix Children’s Hospital after she discovered a large mass on her left thigh. A series of scans led to the diagnosis of sarcoma, which, as expected, was devastating for us to hear. Once pathology results were finally obtained, we learned the name of this horrible disease, Synovial Sarcoma, a rare cancer affecting soft tissue and joints. As our nightmare began, we went straight into fight mode for a girl and haven’t stopped. Our beautiful warrior has endured so much in a short period of time, that no child should ever have to deal with. Isabella has gone through four surgeries and unfortunately has one more left, and we pray it’s the last. She has received many chemotherapy treatments, requiring extended hospital stays for careful monitoring due to the aggressive chemotherapy regimen. She’s got a blood transfusion and 25 consecutive days of radiation that caused mobility limitations, horrific burns and scarring. Despite her maintaining a beautiful smile, the effects of her treatments are not just physical. It has had a profound impact on her mental health and our family's well-being, an unexpected challenge that we have had to learn to navigate as we continue to fight. Her emotional struggles of hair loss, missed experiences, like not starting junior high with her peers, celebrating her twelfth birthday in the hospital, and being unable to participate in volleyball activities has been hard for her too. Regardless of our best endeavors to not have to get to this point, here we are kindly asking for help. The accumulation of medical expenses has resulted in a financial struggle for our family, which will persist as our daughter undergoes future scheduled treatments. We would be grateful for any financial support, regardless of the amount. If a financial donation is not possible at this time, we would appreciate prayers to aid our daughter's recovery from her recent tumor surgery, forthcoming chemotherapy treatments over the next few months. Our journey is far from over until her scans and pathology tests indicate a clean bill of health, and she celebrates her triumph by ringing the bell. We appreciate all the love and support.
