<div>Hi, my name is Aidan, and I’ve created this GoFundMe in hopes of receiving support from the community—whatever that might look like. I don’t have a specific financial goal in mind. <div><strong>Our Story</strong>

<div>In August 2024, my single mother was involved in a severe car accident. Since then, she has faced a number of life-altering medical conditions that continue to worsen. I’ll go into detail about her diagnoses further below.
</div>
<div>For years, my mother worked up to three jobs at a time to support my brother and me. She gave us the most "normal" and loving childhood she possibly could—something many in our situation only dream of. After I reached adulthood, I had hoped it was finally her time—to rest, to live, and to pursue the passions and dreams she put on hold for us.
</div>
<div>But life had other plans. Just as I was preparing to start my adult journey, the accident changed everything.
</div>
<div>Now, my mom is unable to work, and I’ve become her full-time caregiver and sole financial provider. I postponed college and moving out so I could stay by her side and support her in every way possible. Since the accident, I’ve been doing everything I can—working multiple jobs (at times 75 hours a week), trying to make ends meet while also trying to be physically present to care for her.

<div>The job market in our small area of St. George, Utah is competitive, with limited opportunities and low wages—especially for someone without a degree or extensive experience. Despite my determination, our expenses—especially medical—keep growing. I’m doing my absolute best, but it’s becoming harder to keep up.

<div><strong>Why I’m Asking for Help</strong>
</div>
<div>It breaks my heart to see the strongest person I know—once independent, selfless, and seemingly invincible—now struggling with daily tasks, unable to live the life she worked so hard to build. She never wanted to rely on me like this. In her words, she worked herself to the bone so that I could start my life on the best foot. Now, we both feel trapped by our limited options due to an unforgiving and heartbreaking set of circumstances.

<div>I’ve reached the point where I can no longer do this alone. I don’t want to sacrifice any more time I could spend with her because I’m constantly working just to barely stay afloat. That’s why I’ve decided to ask for help—something neither of us takes lightly.

<div><strong>Ida’s Medical Conditions</strong>
</div>
<div>Since the accident, my mother has been diagnosed with:

<div>* Multiple traumatic brain injuries (from ongoing post-accident falls)

<div>* Parkinson’s Disease
</div>
<div>* Epilepsy (seizures)
</div>
<div>* Full-body tremors
</div>
<div>* Drop foot (in both legs), requiring custom prosthetics
</div>
<div>* Double vision and trauma-induced cataracts (needs eye surgery)
</div>
<div>* PTSD
</div>
<div>* Tinnitus
</div>
<div>* TMJ
</div>
<div>* Chronic migraines
</div>
<div>* Severe skeletal damage requiring future nerve fusion
</div>
<div>* Speech and cognitive delays
</div>
<div>* Intense, frequent nerve pain
</div>
<div>* Severe depression and grief due to loss of independence
</div>
<div>* Overstimulation sensitivity in public spaces
</div>
<div>* Inability to complete basic daily tasks without assistance (dressing, eating, showering, chores)
</div>
<div>She now uses a four-pronged cane at all times and cannot pursue vocational rehabilitation or further education. Most of her days are filled with specialist appointments and medical management.

<div><strong>The Financial Reality</strong>
</div>
<div>While we are grateful for Medicaid, it unfortunately does not cover a large portion of her medical expenses, custom equipment, or many of her required medications. Most of the grant programs that once helped people in her situation have been discontinued due to lack of funding.
</div>
<div>To make things even harder: The accident was not her fault. The other driver fled the scene and has faced no known consequences—yet we are left to pick up the pieces of a life that was shattered in an instant.
