<div>We are Michael and Sarah Stan, close friends of Danielle and Mario Iafrate, a family of 5 who recently endured a senseless tragedy on the evening of June 15th, 2024, at the Brookslands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

<div>It was a warm summer day when the Iafrate family were enjoying some fun in the sun with their children. Tragically, their day took a horrific turn when a gunman pulled up and fired at least 28 rounds at families gathered there.

<div>While trying to flee, Danielle, carrying her 7-year-old daughter, was shot twice—once in the arm and once in the back. As she sought safety, she was denied entry by some local businesses too afraid to provide shelter to a scared woman and young child. Thankfully, a compassionate passerby, on their way to work, motioned for her to get into their car amidst the chaos and rushed her to the hospital.

<div>Mario, the father, was separated from their twin teenage daughters during the chaos. One daughter fled across the street to hide behind bushes, while the other sought refuge behind the ice cream shop.

<div><strong>Danielle underwent successful surgery the following day and is now beginning her recovery process at home. However, the family is struggling to resume normal life due to the profound emotional and physical trauma they have suffered. Their home-based daycare business has been put on hold as they navigate this difficult period.</strong>

<div>We are reaching out to local residents, friends, and family to show their support and compassion. <strong>A small donation can make a significant difference in helping our friends recover, both physically and emotionally, from this traumatic event.</strong>
