I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my dear friend Huke Nete, a gifted artist, devoted mother of two, and proud member of the Yawanawá tribe in the Brazilian Amazon.

The Yawanawá—“People of the Wild Boar”—are an Indigenous community deeply connected to their land and traditions. With only around 1,200 people, they are the guardians of their ancestral forest and stewards of environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and women's empowerment.

Nete embodies these values. She sustains her family through her art—creating designs that carry the wisdom and spirit of her people. Now, she’s preparing to expand her art into a new line of clothing that will help provide income for her to finish building her home for her and her family.

To bring her vision to life, Nete needs $2,000 USD to purchase the necessary materials. Due to high import tariffs in Brazil (up to 50%) and expensive shipping costs, this initial investment is challenging for her—but crucial.

There is an upcoming event where she has the opportunity to showcase and sell her new creations, but she needs the funds as soon as possible to buy materials and begin producing her work in time.

This is more than just supporting with money, this is about:

-Empowering an Indigenous woman artist and mother

-Sustaining and building a home for her family

-Sharing the rich cultural heritage of the Yawanawá with the world
