Rebecca and her sons Miguel and Elijah are in need of our help.

In February 2018, Elijah Joel was born with ABCA3 surfactant deficiency which has been associated with fatal respiratory distress syndrome and interstitial lung disease, this also increases his likelihood for future respiratory illness. Baby Elijah survived 16 days of heart/lung bypass (ECMO) and has even had surgery for a paralyzed diaphragm to help him breathe on his own.

During his stay he's had additional procedures performed and additional diagnoses made, to include:
-ABCA3 gene mutation
-Cerebral hemorrhage
-Adrenal insufficiency
-CLD (chronic lung disease)
-ASD
-Laryngomalacia
-Severe tracheobronchomalaciand
-Has coded

So far he has spent his entire life within the NICU/PICU and is working hard to make his way home.

Despite all of this they fight. They play. They laugh. And they love. Every hour is spent making the most of what they have.

During the last seven long months Rebecca has been uprooted from her normal life, and spends the majority of her time at the hospital, hours away from home. Because of the distance, she's torn between taking care of both of her sons and consistently travels hundreds of miles to do so.

Unfortunately her car was recently totaled, as well, putting additional strain on an already challenging situation.

Rebecca, however, is highly motivated and ready to get her life back. She is ready to work. We just need your help so that she can get the positive start she, and her boys, need.
