<div>My name is Adrienne Smith and I am an Elementary School Counselor in Hillsboro School District. As many know, SNAP benefits (aka food stamps, EBT, Oregon Trail Card) will not be funded starting November 1, 2025 for an unspecified period of time. As an educator, I see the real life implications of food insecurity and the struggles our local community members and families experience. We do our best at school to fill these gaps, however, this program going unfunded will be devastating to our community members who rely on these additional food funds. This is happening at a time when folks are scared to leave their homes to go to work or to get groceries, during a month where there are multiple days off of school which leaves students without access to school breakfasts and lunches.

<div>I am asking for donations to buy groceries for families not just at my school but for the community as a whole.
</div>

<div>I will prioritize families with children but will not limit food donations to folks without kids.
</div>

</div>
<div>Through multiple community pages, my connections as a longtime educator and through word of mouth, with enough donations, I will be able to shop for families weekly for the month of November, dropping off food at their homes if they request or I will send food backpacks home with students who need it.

<div>I will update this GoFundMe site with receipts so folks know the money is going to a great cause!
