Heroic Gardens will be hosting its 2nd Annual Mindfulness Day event, scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2025, at The Sunflower Farm at Pennypack in Northeast Philadelphia. (4403 Megargee Street Philadelphia, PA 19136)

Mindfulness Day is a free wellness-focused gathering created for members of the Veteran community and their families, offering a safe, nature-based space to reconnect, relax, and recharge. Participants will take part in guided horticultural therapy, mindful movement, and nature-based art and breathing activities—all surrounded by one acre of blooming sunflowers. Members of community organizations will also be on hand providing healthy resources for Veterans and their families.

We are seeking funding to help support event costs related to materials, and refreshments for attendees. Your funding would ensure this experience remains accessible to all Veteran participants and their loved ones. Last year, we hosted over 150 Veterans and Caregivers, given the fact that we have more space and we are now in a walkable neighborhood, we are expecting to greet over 200 attendees.

Heroic Gardens is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting Veterans and their families with the healing power of plants and nature. As we continue to grow this work at the farm, events like Mindfulness Day reflect our commitment to inclusive access, resilience, and community-building.
