Hi I’m Sosii a skater from Baltimore MD. I’m here to advocate for a friend and new mother who is living on the streets of Ethiopia with her newborn (3m) daughter, Kokob.
Helina Solomon is a skater from Ethiopia who leads a girls skateboarding team and works in a women’s mindset empowerment group called: 'SET'(girl) SKATEBOARDING ETHIOPIA (@SetSkate_Ethiopia).
She recently gave birth to her baby girl and in this time that should be joyous, it is instead full of fear and hunger. Her husband has abandoned her and she has no family to protect or support her. “Right now, I live on the street with my newborn baby in my arms.” Helina has exclaimed to me.
“Every night I hold her close, praying she will survive the cold, the hunger, and the dangers of the street. She is so small and innocent. She deserves a safe home, milk to drink, diapers to keep her warm, and medicine when she is sick.”
I too am a new mother of a 6m old baby boy and it breaks my heart to know what Helina and baby Kokob are going through. No baby deserves to be hungry and unsheltered. This is where WE come in. No one has it easy these days but anything will help, even if just 1 dollar at a time or even a repost/share!
The money allocated will be sent by me to Helina and her baby via cash app for living arrangements, nutrition/milk/food, and necessities.
I will be updating soon with an address for any clothing, bottles, and or other baby supplies donations.
Thank you all so much and God bless you.
